I didn’t catch game 2 of the ECF between the Cavaliers and the Magic last night, but I watched this highlight clip…and JESUS…I GOT CHILLS.

Lissy Trullie’s video for Boy Boy. Good song, good video…good things to come. With a quick read of her blog/tour diary, not only did I discover certain sarcastic sentiments about my hometown of Cleveland, that could instantly pass for those of any tenured Clevelander, I also noticed that on her recent trip to Atlanta, she and her band spent a night or two in the luxurious Days Inn, which is situated behind a Waffle House, adjacent to Tiffany’s Adult Entertainment “Gentlemen’s” club and across the street from none other than Swingin’ Richards gay bar. I myself had the pure satisfaction of the same lodging accommodations not two weeks ago. When I arrived (at 3:30am), I was greeted by my dreaded (ha) next door neighbors, who were just enjoying themselves to the fullest and the loudest and the smokiest! The first thought that ran through my head was that at any point, a bullet would rip though the wall, killing me instantly and leaving me to be discovered by some irate house keeper who would like to think that my not answering the door means that I am in the shower, but knows better from experience. ATL WHAT WHAT?!?!

Nonetheless, check out her video, myspace, blog, shows, et all. Enjoy.

Interesting talk

…so does this.

Scenes from this make me wish I could have lived in this New York City. Well, maybe for a few days.

While this is still funny to listen to, the depth of this brand of comedy is constantly waning. And that is a little disheartening, being that there are so many comics now that just get up to the plate and try to kill the ball, when all they need is a nice in the park double. Oh yes, I am bridging baseball and comedy here. Listening to this Bill Murray classic now feels like listening to an old baseball sportscast and then watching a current season game. The game has changed so much. And like baseball, the world of comedy is so different. The comedic wave has risen and crashed. I seldom really think about it until someone either dies and gets a ‘Best of’ special, if I happen to catch some lame retrospective or if I am watching something that is so bad that my mind is left searching for answers regarding the comic’s success (ie- Dane Cook).

John Belushi was better than Jim Belushi is almost everyway. Except by way of staying alive.
